Oil tanker truck hijacked
LINGAYEN–The police are still facing a blank wall in the investigation of the hijacking of an oil tanker truck loaded with premium and regular gasoline, and diesel crude oil while en route to San Manuel town from Manila at about 3:00 a.m. of September 21.
The truck driver, John Harold Gumangan, 25, and his helper, Jonathan Gomaez, 27, both of San Manuel, reported the hijacking to the police in Aguilar town where they were dropped by the hijackers.
The Pangasinan Police Provincial Office (PPO) reported that the armed men commandeered the gasoline tanker with Plate No. XJG 644 at gunpoint while they were negotiating the Hacienda Luisita, Tarlac portion of the Subic Clark-Tarlac Express Way (SCTEX).
Gumangan and Gomaez recounted to Senior Inspector Valentin Abalos, chief of the Aguilar Police, that the hijackers ordered them out of the tanker, then made to board another vehicle while they were blindfolded and their hands tied.
The two were dropped out in front of the Aguilar Cemetery from where they sought police assistance.
