Earthquake drill at Consuelo’s set June 18
LINGAYEN–The Pangasinan Provincial Disaster Coordinating Council (PDCC) will hold the its own 2nd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill at the Consuelo’s Hotel and Restaurant here.
The drill will include tenants and office workers inside commercial buildings and business establishments, aside from just the usual school premises and public office buildings.
PDCC Spokesperson Avenix Arenas said the drill will also include senior citizens, pregnant women and children.
The highlight of the activity will be a rescue simulation from the top of the building where members of the Bureau of Fire Protection will showcase their rappelling skills.
Under the administration of Governor Amado Espino, Jr., the PDCC was made as a regular office to coordinate efforts of the Provincial Government and various national government agencies and LGUs to respond to impending disasters.
Meanwhile, the PDCC has been invited to participate in the 1st National Rescue and Disaster Response Competition in Albay on July 26 to 31.
The Provincial Health Emergency Response Team (PHERT) and the Water Search and Rescue (WASAR) team are currently undergoing rigid preparation and training for the competition.
