Dagupan credit coop appoints new manager

The Dagupan City Savings and Credit Cooperative has appointed Jose Oviedo as its new general Manager.

The DSCC, a recipient of P3.5 million from the Countrywide Development Fund of Speaker Jose de Venecia through the representation of Councilor Alex de Venecia, is registered with the Cooperative Development Authority, 

The P1 million donated by St. John Multi Purpose Cooperative to the new cooperative and the P.5 million from personal funds of Speaker Jose De Venecia, finally enabled it to comply with the minimum financial requirement of Bangko Sentral for accreditation and license to operate as Cooperative Bank in Pangasinan.

Oviedo is also the general manager of St. John Multi-Purpose Cooperative.

The cooperative aims to conduct regular   training and livelihood programs in collaboration with Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

Proposed projects include metal works, wood crafting, door mat making, dress making, tailoring and selling of basic commodities and auto spare parts.

The cooperative will also provide micro-financing to members who plan to engage in any business.

      Meanwhile, Councilor De Venecia has secured the permission from Mayor Benjie Lim to use the Helping Hand Foundation Building as temporary office of DSCC for at least 3 years.
