TITLE-CONTENDERS led by defending champion the University of Pangasinan (UPang) Webczars and last year’s runners-up the University of Luzon (UL) Golden Tigers and the Lyceum Northwestern University (LNU) Dukes scored convincing victories last week to remain unscathed after completing their three assignments in this year’s PRISAA Pangasinan-Dagupan City Inter-Collegiate Basketball Invitational Championship being held at Dagupan People’s Astrodome.

Last Monday, the Dukes hammered the obstinate Pangasinan State University (PSU) quintet, 95-66, while the Golden Tigers crushed the PIMSAT Mariners, 94-76, and the AIE-C Eagles scored their second win and set this season’s highest score so far dumping newcomer LNU-FTD Urdaneta City, 139-50.

“We are on the way to bigger games, and it is one game at a time,” Eagles head coach Noahdelos Vieres proudly said, confident to enter the semis set on the first week of October

Last Thursday, the raging Webczars sank the PAMMA Navigators, 102-62, while the Colegio de Dagupan Voltz scored their second victory over LNU-FTD Urdaneta City thru forfeiture. The Voltz suffered two debacles at the hands of the Dukes and the Eagles.

PSU is now in the winning column after suffering three consecutive losses by clobbering the winless PRISAA Pangasinan 1, 118-51.

The seventh day of skirmishes resume tomorrow Monday with the much-awaited confrontation between the Webczars and the Golden Tigers set at 2:30 p.m. after the Dukes – Navigators battle scheduled at 1:00 p.m.

The Eagles and the Mariners both toting an identical a card with two wins and one loss collide at 4:00 p.m.
