BM Perez says people feel gov’s noble initiatives
LINGAYEN–The provincial government of Pangasinan formally turned over 209 sets of water pumps and grass cutters to recipient barangays in eight towns of the eastern part of the province on September 12-13.
Vice Governor Ferdinand Z. Calimlim Jr., who represented Governor Amado T. Espino Jr., turned over the items to the town mayors and barangays captains. He was assisted by Board Members Amadeo T. Espino and Salvador Perez Jr.
Calimlim said the grass cutters procured by the provincial government for the 1,333 barangays in the province will help maintain cleanliness in the barangays while the water pumps will serve as irrigation facility to support farmer in the province.
“Nais ni Gov. Espino na dalhin ang Kapitolyosa mga barangay kung kaya’t kami ngayon ay namamahagi ng mga water pumps atgrass cutters para sa inyo,” Calimlim said as he noted that the distribution of the equipment is an immediate directive by the governor to help barangay folks keep the environment clean and to enable farmers in the province boost rice production using water pumps as irrigation facility.
In the same vein, Board Member ‘Deo’ Espino said the governor would always want that after his term, all barangays in Pangasinan will feel how the provincial government has expressed love and value to barangay folks.
“You may not see the governor in instances like this (referring to the distribution) because he has been busy dealing with other matters for the good of our province, but we could actually feel how his noble initiatives (like the distribution of these waterpumps and grass cutters) help Pangasinenses,” Perez emphasized.
The mayors along with the members of their respective town councils and Presidents of the Association of Barangay Council (ABC) collectively thanked the governor for bringing the early Christmas gifts in their localities and lauded the good programs and initiatives the provincial government has been doing for the good of Pangasinenses.
Also accompanying the provincial executives in the distribution were Provincial Executive Assistant III Modesto Operania, General Services Office (GSO) Officer-in-Charge Rolando Diaz and Public Services Officer IV Romeo Aquino from GSO.
The mayors who received the cleaning and farming equipment were: Alain Jerico S. Perez, San Manuel; Heidee G. Chua, Asingan; Teodoro A. Ramos, Sta. Maria; Carlos TreceR. Mapili, Tayug; Romulo A. Antolin, San Quintin; Eldred P. Tumbocon, Umingan; Rodrigo L. Rafael, Natividad; and Leoncio S. Saldivar III, San Nicolas.
To date, the provincial government has already distributed 1,196 sets of water pumps and grass cutters to recipient barangays in the province.
The series of distribution of water pumps and grass cutters to barangays in the province is nearly completed as five remaining towns (Alcala, Bautista, Santo Tomas, Balungao and Rosales) in the fifth and sixth districts are set for the distribution next week. (PIO)
