Star-studded bikefest on March 23
PANGASINAN and Zambales will host a star-studded bicycle road race on March 23, starting in Subic and winding up in Dagupan City with an approximate distance of 235 kilometers.
The single day bikefest, dubbed “OO NA, NOYNOY NA,” is sponsored by the Asahan Partylist chaired by Jun Omar Ebdane.
Among the expected participants are three national Tour champions headed by last year’s Padyak Pinoy titlist Joel Calderon of Nueva Ecija, 2003 Tour Pilipinas king Arnel Quirimit of Pangasinan, and 2007 Padyak champion Warren Davadilla of Valenzuela City.
Also expected to join are other former national team standouts including Baler Ravina, Sherwin Carrera, Irish Valenzuela, Renato Sembrano, Reynaldo Navarro and local boys of Zambales and neighboring provinces.
Subic Mayor Jeffrey Khonghun will flag off the riders at 9:30 a.m. and Dagupan City Mayor Alipio Fernandez Jr. will greet the participants at the finish line and award the prizes.
“We will also promote other sports in the near future like boxing, billiards, tennis, taekwondo and others which we know that our countrymen will excel in international competitions,” he added.
