Pozorrubio council ok’s P10 M supplemental budget
THE Sangguniang Bayan of Pozorrubio approved on 2nd reading last Monday the P10 million plus supplementary budget.
The proponents, Councilors Joseph Frianeza, Kelvin Chan and Mario Estaris were surprised by the easy approval of the supplementary budget after members of the opposition-subjected allies of the mayor to rigid questioning earlier.
The budget allocated initial, counterpart or additional funding for the socio-economic projects of the town, all of are Mayor Emma Chan’s top priorities.
The approved budget is to be sourced from municipal savings of the previous years and shall provide the initial outlay as local counterpart to 5th District Representative Mark Cojuangco’s congressional fund in the site preparation and construction of a school building to replace the burnt Gabaldon of the Pozorrubio Elementary School.
It will also provide additional funding for the Malasin-Bantugan Bridge that involves the re-channeling of the Angalacan River bed and embankments and the construction of slope protection; the completion of the Civic Center Building; construction of additional layer tombs, bone crypts and concrete fence of the Public Cemetery expansion; and, the continuing concreting of farm-to-market roads and slope-protection projects.
Also included are the statutory appropriations for the reserved calamity fund and monetization of accumulated leave credits of municipal officials and employees.
