NBI agent nabbed for gun ban violation
ONE can manage to sidestep the law some time, but not all the time.
This was the lesson learned by an agent of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), who entered a cockpit with a gun tucked in his waist. He was arrested for violating the nationwide gun ban imposed by the Commission on Elections in line with the May election.
The NBI agent, Franklin Cabading, 44, was not in official law enforcement uniform when he entered the Dagupan Cockpit Arena carrying the gun.
Cabading attempted to evade arrest but was eventually taken into custody by the police.
Meanwhile, also arrested in Dagupan on January 25 was a security guard of KISA Security on duty at the Pangasinan Merchant Marine Academy.
Police Provincial Director Percival Barba said there are already 11 firearms and one gun replica seized by the police in connection with the current gun ban which will be in effect until June 10.–LM
