Espino enrolls more indigents in PhilHealth

LINGAYEN–Governor Amado Espino Jr. distributed on Wednesday another 1,818 PhilHealth cards in 27 barangays in Manaoag as part of the provincial government’s thrust to improve health services.

“We will not stop until all indigent families is our province are enrolled in PhilHealth, regardless of their political color or party affiliation,” said Espino who is running for a second term in the May polls.

The number of indigent families in the province covered by health insurance now total 228,552, based on provincial records.

Of this number,106,512 are sponsored by the provincial government and the rest are covered by sponsorships from congressmen, various municipalities and some non-government agencies.

According to PhilHealth Regional Office I, Pangasinan ranks number one in the country for having the largest number of PhilHealth beneficiaries.

Another distribution of PhilHealth cards is scheduled in Urdaneta City on January 27.
