SUPERINTENDENT Noel B. Vallo has been named new police chief of Dagupan by Mayor

Benjamin S. Lim replacing Superintendent Romeo Caramat who is scheduled to undergo a police officer training course.

Lim formally announced the designation of Vallo during a press briefing at the City Hall last Thursday apparently in open defiance of the recommendation of the PNP regional command postpone the final appointment in order to consider another candidate.

He said he opted for Vallo saying “with his vast training and experience in police work and management, we trust that he would be able to implement various measures that would improve the peace and order situation in the city.”

Asked if he was satisfied with the performance of Caramat, the mayor said that his conclusive evaluation of the outgoing police chief’s accomplishment record is not a perfect 10, but his leadership in police works is an “exceptional example for our city’s next police commander to emulate”.
