Kristine Avelino reigns as Miss Dagupan 2009
BARANGAY Pantal’s candidate, a 20-year old student at the St. Louis University, was crowned Miss Dagupan 2009 last Saturday night, December 26.
Kristine Grace Avelino bested 11 other candidates in the annual beauty pageant held at the city plaza last December 20 as this year’s Dagupan Fiesta muse.
Though Miss Avelino did not win any of the special titles and awards, she proved her mettle in the question-and-answer portion of the pageant to wind up among the 5 finalists.
Judges agreed that her poise and grace, and intelligent responses to questions made her a clear winner.

First runner-up was May Ervinson Ruaro who was also adjudged Miss Photogenic while 2nd runner-up was Rochelle Carlos.
Shylien Joyce Collado was picked both ‘Miss San Mig Light’ and ‘Miss Friendship’ of the pageant while Almea Diosse was adjudged ‘Miss Timbergold’, ‘Miss GSM’ and ‘Miss Northern Bulletin’.
Hazel Ann Laquindanum bagged three awards, ‘Best in Swimsuit’, ‘Best in Long Gown’ and ‘Smart Texter’s Choice Award’. -LM
