FORMER Dagupan City Mayor Benjamin Lim paraded a new team of candidates on Wednesday, with five substitutions made from the original set who filed with him.

Councilor Danilo Torio, who served his 3-term as councilor, substituted Lim’s business associate, Antonio Uy, currently board director of the Dagupan City Water District, as candidate for vice mayor.

Other substitutions were for candidates running for the council namely: Brian Lim, son of the former mayor, in lieu of Alexander Siapno; Nelson Cuison vice Maximo Alexis Tan, Leu Paragas vice James Arenas, Jestoni Aquino substituting his father, former councilor Nicanor Aquino, and Dr. Alfonso Llamas Jr. vice Alex Zarate.

Those who remain in Lim’s ticket are Allan Sison, Butch Cardinal Torio, Redford Erfe Mejia, Guillermo Vallejos and Jo seph Antony Manaois

Lim and his new team faced the media during the weekly “Engkwentro sa Lenox” forum sponsored by the Pangasinan Press Club.

Lim said they are a strong and young team whose average age is 40 years old.

Lim explained that they had to undertake substitutions as allowed by law because filing of the certificates of candidacy was rushed to meet the deadline.

Lim’s team will be up against the Liberal Party team of incumbent Mayor Alipio Fernandez Jr. and reelectionist Vice Mayor Belen Fernandez with reelectionist Councilors Alfie Fernandez, Librada Reyna, Karlos Reyna, Luis Samson Jr., Jesus Canto and Alfredo Quinto; former councilor Alex de Venecia; and newcomers Maybelyn De La Cruz Fernandez, Jeslito Seen and Alvin Coquia.–LM
