Obosa wins Urdaneta fiesta race

WELL-KNOWN sprint specialist Ericson Obosa of Manaoag breezed past his four breakaway partners in the last 300 meters to win the Tour de Urdaneta bikefest held last week.

Tarlac cyclist Joseph Millanes came in a close second while Bugallon son Renier Clauna checked in third. San Fabian born Sherwin Carrera and San Manuel native Eduardo Nardo finished fourth and fifth, respectively.

The five clocked the 132-kilometer well-paved flat trek in three hours, 10 minutes and 33 seconds, outdistancing the second wave of finishers by 32 seconds.

Rounding up the top ten were: Baler Ravina of Umingan, Pepito Calosa of San Jacinto, Ronald Ladines of Urdaneta, Edmund Nicolas of San Manuel and Emil Pablo of Umingan.

The annual event, participated in by 75 riders from Pangasinan, Manila and neighboring provinces, was sponsored by the Urdaneta City headed by Mayor Amadito Perez Jr. with well-known executive category  racer Roy del Prado directing the event and assisted by Atty. Sonny Arboleda and Engr. Ed Paringit.—JAGJr.
