Gumarang elected new CFARMC chairman
ANGEL Gumarang, chairman of barangay Bonuan Gueset in Dagupan, won unopposed as the new chairman of the City Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Management Council (CFARMC) during last Wednesday’s election.
Gumarang will succeed Jesus Paras who served for three years as CFARMC chairman.
Mayor Alipio Fernandez welcomed the reorganization of the CFARMC as a step in the right direction, citing the role of barangay-based FARMC in the growth of the city’s fishing industry.
The chairmen of the city’s 23 coastal villages took part in the elections.
Elected with Gumarang were Tapuac BFARMC chairman Alfredo Caguioa, vice chairman; Perlita Ugaban and Bert De Vera Jr., secretaries; Pantal Punong Barangay Lilia Yazar, treasurer; Danilo De Sola, assistant treasurer; Bonuan Boquig Kagawad Felimon Gonzales; Bacayao Sur’s Armando Claveria and Mayombo’s Mario Delos Santos, auditors and Lasip Grande’s Ireneo Abata, Pugaro’s Bernardo Budol and Tebeng’s Felicidad Daroy, press relation officers.
