The two were found by the police inside their car along the national highway in Barangay Barangobong after they were attacked by suspects who rode with them.

Mrs. Suzuki, who was rushed to the hospital, survived to narrate to the police what happened and identified their attackers as the companions of one Eleorie Saldivar Arzadon, a former town councilor.

Chief Inspector Edgar Cayacay, chief of police, Mrs. Suzuki narrated to the police that Arzadon called and tricked the couple into going to Barangay Barangobong, purportedly to return the P200,000 entrusted by the couple to him to buy a lot for them but which the couple suspected he embezzled.

However, upon their arrival at the designated meeting place, Arzadon instead asked the couple to proceed to the town proper where he would turnover the cash and at the same time asked that his two companions be allowed to ride with them.

But on their way to the town proper, the two men hitchhikers pulled out a gun and knife and ordered the vehicle to stop. They immediately shot Suzuki in the head and repeatedly stabbed his wife in different parts of her body.

The suspect with the knife stopped stabbing Mrs. Suzuki appeared to have died.

Arzadon was promptly arrested, as he was about to escape to San Nicolas town. LM
