MAPANDAN–The much-awaited inauguration of the town’s new municipal hall was finally held.

Costing P23 million, the two-storey building was inaugurated last Wednesday coinciding with the 40th birthday of Mayor Jose Ferdinand Calimlim.

He said it is his legacy to the people of Mangaldan while on his last term of office after a nine-year public service.

Governor Amado Espino Jr. to grace the inauguration.

The two-storey municipal building, including its landscaping, furnishing and equipment, was financed partly from the municipal government’s unclaimed Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA) released through Land Bank of the Philippines.

Other funds were contributed by Governor Amado Espino Jr., Vice Governor Marlyn Primicias-Agabas, provincial board members and Ambassador Educardo Cojuangco, chairman of the board of the San Miguel Corporation.

The new municipal building replaced the old edifice built during the pre-war period. Embracing the design and shape of a classy resort hotel but conducive for work, the municipal building is considered by the mayor as an “edifice of pride and unity of the people of Mapandan”.

“We made this truly an edifice that we can treasure forever” he said. (PNA)
