UL’s Atty. Luis Samson honored posthumously
The late Atty. Luis Samson earned three separate posthumous citations from the city government, the Sanggunian Panlungsod of Dagupan and the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountant (PICPA) Pangasinan Chapter.
The late Atty. Luis F. Samson, Sr., the founder and the first president of the University of Luzon, was presented a posthumous award last June 20 during the 59th Agew na Dagupan celebration.
The award was presented “for his exemplary contribution to education, social and economic development of the city of Dagupan through his pioneering stewardship of one of the oldest and biggest institutions of learning hereabouts, starting with the Luzon Colleges of Commerce and Business Administration (LCCBA), which evolved into Luzon Colleges (LC) and now University of Luzon and for his whole hearted frontline involvement with social and civic spirited causes and his active and unwavering support to the growth and progress of the city’s trade and commerce and industry.”
The school was likewise given a plaque of recognition as the “Most Outstanding Educational Institution in Dagupan City.”
At the Sanggunian Panlungsod, nine councilors authored a resolution no. 5403-2006 recognizing the contribution of Dr. Luis F. Samson, Sr. in the field of Academic Leadership and for other contributions he has made for the city of Dagupan.
At the Star Plaza Hotel last Friday, the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountant (PICPA) Pangasinan Chapter presented a Posthumous Award to the elder Samson for his invaluable contributions as founding president of the chapter.
