ROSALES–Abono partylist will continue to support the planned bid of Senator Chiz Escudero for the presidency despite his recent decision to cut ties from the Nationalist People’s Coalition.

Engr. Rosendo So, founding chairman of Abono, in a text message to The PUNCH, said “Abono will support Chiz”.

The group had completed its campaign for one million signatures last week to push the senator to run for president in the May 2010 election.

So said 35 percent of the signatories come from the youth sector, another 35 percent from the farmers’ group, and the rest from other working professionals and common citizens.

Abono started the signature campaign for Escudero when the senator visited Dagupan City and said he was still uncertain about his presidential bid.

So said Abono is supporting Escudero being he is, among other things, a pro-farmer.#
