Lelia Rosario Chua-Sy, publisher of the Northern Times, was elected unopposed as executive vice president of the Publishers Association of the Philippines (PAPI) at the annual election held at the Makati Sports Club last June 24.

The other officers are Juan Dayang of  Philippine Graphic and The Leader, chairman-president; Deo Alvarez of Atlas Publishing, vice president for Luzon; Danny Fajardo of Hublas, vice president for Visayas; Oscar Aznar of Mindanao Express, vice president for Mindanao;

Fred Gabot of Manila Bulletin, secretary; Estrella Gallardo of Bataan Headline, treasurer; DY Caparas of the Diplomatic Post, secretary-treasurer; Feliciano Caracas of the Ilocano Tribune and
Pangasinan News, membership committee; Mar Romero of The Island Observer and Johnny Nunez of Nueva Ecija Newsbreak, directors for Luzon;

Edwin Pelayo of Boracay Inquirer, and Atty. Elmer Dejaresco of Bohol Chronicle, directors for Mindanao; and Vic Arevalo of Daily Zamboanga Times and Mauren Jones of Sulu Archipelago, directors for Mindanao.

Sy was PAPI national treasurer before she was elected to the position.
