Manaoag doctor gets kudos for philanthropic works
A FILIPINA doctor from Manaoag town is hailed today for her philanthropic activities in New York, U.S.A.
Dr. Teofila Malanum Santos, has been in the thick of innumerable civic, community and spiritually oriented undertakings, for which she already has numerous awards and citation.
Born and raised in Manaoag, she is married to Dr. Ricardo Santos and has a daughter, Jennie, who is also in the medical field.
Cited as a role model for Filipinos both here and abroad, Dr. Malanum Santos is actively involved in PIDCI events.
She served as president of Philippine Medical Association of America, University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center Medical Alumni Association, the Pangasinan Association of USA; and president of the Association of Philippine Physicians of New York.
She is presently adviser of the San Lorenzo Ruiz de Manila Of New York, Inc., Coalition for the Advancement of Filipino Women in America, and founder and adviser of Our Lady of Manaoag Society of America.-LM
