Coco plantation to rise in Pangasinan
LINGAYEN – The plan to establish a coconut plantation in the province to serve the biogas project of the government will be a boon to the province’s economic development.
This was the reaction of Vice Gov. Oscar B. Lambino to the plan to establish a 600 hectare coconut plantation in Northern Luzon.
The plantation will reportedly be put up by a Japanese corporation and the project initially will help alleviate the unemployment problem in the province.
The project is eyeing to set up the plantations in Ilocos Sur, Ilocos Norte, La Union, Pangasinan.
However, Lambino did not identify the towns in Pangasinan where the project will be located.
“Once the planting of coconut plantation kicks off, a lot of manpower will be needed to implement the project,” he said.
