Skeleton found at foot of Caraballo Mountain
UMINGAN—A human skeleton was found on August 8 at around 11 p.m. at a ravine in an uninhabited area at the foot of the Caraballo Mountain in Barangay Diket here.
Barangay Chairman Victorino Medenilla reported it to the police the next day who then proceeded to the place and confirmed the finding.
The scattered skeleton was found by Lirio Ramirez, 30, single, and a wild animal hunter and resident of the barangay.
Further investigation identified the remains as that of Richard Cruz Cabatec, 19, single, and resident of barangay Don Montano who is believed to have committed suicide.
The victim was positively identified by his father, Manuel Cabatec, through the recovered clothing.
The father revealed that his son allegedly suffered from mental problems and around June, he left home after being scolded by an elder sister. He has not been seen since.
The family signified refusal to examine the remains of the victim.
