Crisostomo Ibarra dies in Bolinao
BOLINAO–A namesake of one of the main characters in the Noli Me Tangere novel of national hero Jose Rizal, Crisostomo Ibarra, was shot dead by one of his drinking mates on the evening of August 23 in Barangay Luna here.
The police is now hunting the suspected shooter, Joel Ritualo, 29, a native of Bongabong, Nueva Ecija and presently residing in barangay Luna.
The victim and the suspect with some others were reportedly having a drinking session when a heated altercation ensued between the two.
The suspect took an improvised shotgun, locally known as sumpak, and fired at the victim, hitting him in the stomach. —CSR
