A CAMPAIGN on nutrition education dubbed “Bear Brand Laki sa Gatas” was launched at the West Central School in Dagupan City on Friday as part of the nationwide program to promote milk drinking as a way of life.

The launching featured talks by nutrition experts for mothers, children and teachers on the importance and values of drinking milk.

Miss International 2005 Precious Lara Quigaman, a leading milk advocate, was among the guests.

Quigaman, now a popular television and movie personality, attributes her drinking of milk as among the reasons for her success.

She also inspired mothers by telling stories on how to control unruly children by using reverse psychology.

Javi Medina, marketing promotions and events manager of Bear Brand, said the activity is a nutrition education advocacy that started in 2006 aimed at helping reduce malnutrition in the country.

The “Laki sa Gatas” campaign is in line with the company’s “Go Grow and Glow” program that teaches mothers how to prepare nutritious but affordable food for their children. —LM
