Malunggay cookfest winners awarded

A RECIPE consisting of tuna, malunggay and tahong was adjudged winner of the Malunggay Cookfest, the July Nutrition Month’s culminating activity held last Thursday at the CSI the City Mall in Lucao, Dagupan.

There were 15 entries in the cookfest dubbed as “Malunggay 101”, an activity aimed at promoting the high nutritional value of malunggay.

Second prize winner was the Malunggay Alimasag recipe while Malunggay Nuggets bagged the third prize. The winners received cash and gift prizes from the CSI Group of Companies.

Leah Aquino, city nutrition officer, said more contests are set under the administration of Mayor Alipio Fernandez Jr. until there are enough content for a planned book project on “101 Ways to Cook Malunggay”.

Vice Mayor Belen Fernandez, who also owns the CSI Group and an active promoter of nutrition in the city, and Councilor Alfredo Quinto Sr. handed out the prizes to the winners.
