Tambac defeats Lucao in OT
BARANGAY Tambac scuttled an intensive triple-team defense employed against its key player Trillana by the Lucao team to win the game in overtime, 88-86, last Sunday, setting a record as the first ever played in extra period in the ongoing basketball tournament of the First Dagupan City Inter-Barangay Council Family Tournaments at the Stadia.
The same Tambac five also posted a record that caused all but one of the players of Barangay Lomboy to foul out in a game last July 7 and won by forfeiture with still twelve seconds remaining in the fourth period.
Results for the July 28 games are: Pogo Chico 95, Malued 40; Bonuan Boquig 74, Carael 52; Barangay IV 82, Lasip Grande 60; Mamalingling 104, Pugaro 94; Tebeng, 92, Bacayao Sur 88; Herrero-Perez 75, Barangay I 74; Lucao 75, Mayombo 60; and Pantal 20, Barangay II & III 0 (by forfeiture).
On July 29, the results are: Caranglaan 83, Bonuan Gueset 77; Bolosan 109, Carael 65; Mangin 108, Bacayao Norte 67; Tebeng 98, Pogo Chico 69; Lomboy 90, Salisay 79; Tapuac 81,Salapingao 67; and, Pogo-Grande won by game forfeiture over Malued.
Leading the overall standings are: Bracket A – Bolosan 4-0 win-loss card, and Bonuan Boquiig 3-0; Bracket B –Mamalingling 4-0, Mangin 5-1; Bracket C – Tebeng 4-0, Pogo Chico 3-1; and Bracket D – Salisay 3-1 and Tambac 2-1.
