MALASIQUI—A barangay kagawad of Patakbo, Basista was arrested by the police after he was found carrying an unlicensed Cal. 45 pistol during a drinking spree with a fellow seaman.

Alert residents immediately called the police to report Jerry Bustarde, 37, who had his gun tucked in his waist.

When Bustarde could not present any document showing permit or license to possess the firearm, the police booked him for violating Republic Act  8294.
