A cadet officer of a local college was recently named the best of the crop.

Edmark Aurelio, 3rd year BSIT student of Colegio de Dagupan, and the school’s ROTC Corps Commander, was cited as the Philippine Air Force ROTC Cadet of the Year 2009 during the PAF 62nd Anniversary held at the Villamor Air Base on July 1.

Aurelio, who was also the Air Force Reserve Command’s ROTC Cadet of the Year 2008, bested all the other cadet officers in the entire PAF ROTC program based on leadership, involvement in civil-military operations as a cadet and as a reservist, as well as excellence in academics.

The plaque of commendation was awarded by Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro, Jr., himself a PAF Reservist,and PAF Commanding General Maj. Gen Oscar H. Rabena AFP.
