Suspect in cop killing surrenders
LINGAYEN–The suspect in the shooting of a policeman in Sison town surrendered to the joint police authorities Monday night in Galas, Quezon City.
The provincial police station identified the suspect as Alfonso Leo Delgado, 35, a native of Zamboanga del Sur.
Delgado is wanted for the killing of PO2 Jonathan Gomez, a member of the Sison police.
Earlier reports said the victim and the suspect were having a drinking session before the suspect reportedly shot the victim.
The victim was rushed to a hospital where he was declared dead on arrival while Delgado fled the scene and went on a run.
The Pangasinan special operations group (SOG), led by P/Supt. Wilson Joseph Lopez, assisted by Sison Vice Mayor Bensaulozaceus Marinas, negotiated the suspect’s surrender through the latter’s relatives.
Delgado is facing a murder charge with the used of an unlicensed firearm in Urdaneta City.

Meanwhile, a namesake of the late actor Rudy Fernandez wanted for a kidnapping case in Pangasinan was arrested by police authorities in a restaurant in Manila Tuesday night.
Rudy Fernandez, 25, alias Daboy, of Barangay Nibaliw, Mangaldan, was arrested by joint police operatives at the restaurant where he was working as dishwasher.
The suspect was arrested by joint elements of the Mangaldan PNP led by P/Supt. Roberto Vocal, the Malate PNP, and Pangasinan PNP -CSR
