Pugaro and Pogo Chico remain unbeaten

DAGUPAN INTER-BARANGAY FAMILY SPORTS FEST

BARANGAYS Pugaro and Pogo Chico have remained unbeaten in basketball and volleyball after two weekends of hostilities in the ongoing 1st Dagupan City Inter-Barangay Council Family Tournaments that started on June 30, held at The Stadia in Lucao District.

Both teams clinched early solo leadership in overall standing as Barangay Pugaro registered three wins in basketball and four wins in volleyball while Barangay Pogo Chico garnered two wins in basketball and also four wins in volleyball.

In the basketball for men tournament, Pugaro is joined by seven other barangay teams that posted victories without any defeat: Salisay, 3; Bolosan, Bonuan Boquig, Bonuan Gueset, Mamalingling and Pogo Chico, 2 wins each and Herrero-Perez, 1 win.

Aside from Pugaro, four other teams tallied 4 wins apiece to share solo leadership in the volleyball for women tournament: Carael, Malued, Pogo Chico, and Pantal.

Meanwhile, tournaments project director Seato A. Gonomil announced there are no games on July 14, 15 and 21 as The Stadia will be used on those dates for activities which were booked earlier.

Basketball games and volleyball matches shall resume on Sunday, July 22, starting at 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., respectively.

Barangays Poblacion Oeste and Bonuan Binloc are the only two of the 31 barangays in the city that did not join the tournaments which are televised over USATV Channel 17.
