Agbayani: Pangasinan needs more tourist hotels, facilities

LINGAYEN – The provincial government is set to encourage more investors who will build hotels, first class restaurants, resorts and tourist-oriented establishments.

Governor Victor Agbayani said these will cater to tourists flocking to the province, especially during holidays, like the just-concluded Pistay Dayat where not all tourists were accommodated in   hotels available.

Agbayani said that had the province the needed facilities already, the tourists would have stayed for a longer period, which means additional economy for the businessmen of the province.

He said that this year, the province of Pangasinan  earned the prestigious award given by the  Department of Tourism as top in tourism marketing for Region I, thus  bigger inflow of tourists is expected  in the coming days.

He observed that inflow of tourists and visitors during this year’s Pistay Dayat had been the biggest so far as compared to the eight years that he had seen since he started in office as the Governor of the province.

That is why, in order to accommodate all the tourists coming to the province during the Pista’y Dayat, there is a need for more investors that would build tourist-oriented facilities, he added.

With enough tourist facilities, he said, Pangasinan can have a bigger share of the big tourism money flowing into the country yearly. – APE
