8 barangay teams post early wins, no losses
1ST DAGUPAN INTER-BARANGAY COUNCIL FAMILY SPORTSFEST
TAKING the early lead in the 1st Dagupan City Inter-Barangay Council Family Basketball and Volleyball Tournaments are eight barangay teams with a card of victories without any loss during the first two days of skirmishes in basketball and volleyball games held on June 30 and July 1 at The Stadia in Lucao District.
Both teams of Barangays Pantal and Pugaro are sporting one win in basketball and three wins in volleyball to lead other barangays in this sports festival which is anchored on the theme- “Building Friendship though Fitness and Sports.”
Other barangays that also posted early wins with no loss in both basketball and volleyball are Bonuan Boquig, Pogo Chico, I, II, Caranglaan, and Mamalingling.
Team Lucao has yet to play in either event.
Twenty-nine out of 31 barangays of the city are participating in this sports activity. Barangays Poblacion Oeste and Bonuan Binloc did not join the tournaments which are conducted every Saturday and Sunday and televised through USATV Channel 17 until August, 2012.
The tournament is sponsored by the Dagupan City Government, Vice-Mayor Belen T. Fernandez, Sangguniang Panlungsod, CSI Group of Companies, USATV, Kabaleyan Channel, The Stadia, and BAP (Basketball Association of the Philippines) Region I.–Philamer C. Celi
