16 San Carlos City cops receive ‘Medalya ng Kagalingan’
CAMP BGEN OSCAR M FLORENDO–The Medalya ng Kagalingan was conferred to three Police Commissioned Officers and 13 Police Non-Commissioned Officers from San Carlos City in recognition of their bravery and exemplary conduct during an armed encounter with cattle rustlers in Sitio Sipit, Barangay Bacnar in their city on April 15 this year.
The awardees are Police Senior Inspector Resty Ventenilla, Senior Insp. Joseph Mark Sibayan, Insp. Gerardo Macaraeg Jr., Senior Police Officer 1 Rodolfo P. Resuello Jr., Police Officer 2 Jeorge A. Abao III, and Police Officer One Christopher Jarillo, Benedicto Agustin Mark Argel De Guzman, Rolando Ventenilla, Welber Poquiz, Crispin Dela Cruz, Jayson Macasieb, Sander Claveria, Gilson Pagsolingan, Christian Jaybee Bugarin and Gilbert Palisoc.
During the encounter, the operatives neutralized and killed one of the suspects and recovered the stolen cattle, one caliber .38 revolver loaded with ammunition, two spent shells and one MK2 fragmentation grenade.
Police Chief Superintendent Franklin Jesus B. Bucayu, Region 1 Police Director, said the accomplishment of the honorees demonstrates that PRO1 is equipped with an able and capable police force who are willing to risk life and limb to ensure the safety of the community.
Bucayu added that the awardees displayed great concern and dedication in sustaining the Police Regional Office 1’s legacy as “Home of the Citizen Friendly Policemen and Protectors of Human Rights.”
Earlier, Bucayu commended the team and expressed satisfaction over the positive development, even as he reminded his men to continue sustaining PRO1’s anti-criminality initiatives.
The conferment was made by Philippine National Police Chief Director General Nicanor Bartolome in a ceremony held here Tuesday, which was also the first command visit to the region of Bartolome since he became the head of the Philippine National Police in September 2011.
