4 drug pushers arrested in Dagupan
SUSPECTED drug pushers and users were arrested and subsequently charged for violation of Republic Act 9165, the anti drugs law, last week in two buy-bust operations conducted by the Dagupan police.
Arrested in the afternoon of June 26 at the Sangguniang Village in Caranglaan was John Chris Fuentes, 37, of Poblacion West, Calasiao, who sold one heat-sealed sachet of shabu to a policeman who acted as poseur buyer.
Fuentes, according to the police, is the vice-president of the Asian Institute of E-Commerce (AIE College) located in Barangay Pantal.
Also arrested were a certain Joey Ferrer, 25, and Manuelito Francisco, 26, reportedly working as security guards at AIE, who were in the vicinity at the time of the police operation.
Seized from the two were two pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline granules suspected to be shabu and various durg-related paraphernalia.
City Police Chief Romeo C. Caramat Jr. said the three suspects were having transactions and seemed to be planning a pot session when the arrest was made.
Francisco, a resident of Malta in Barangay Malued, had been involved in robbery and hold-up cases before, he added.
Meanwhile, a tip from an informant prompted an operation that led to the arrest of JR Gamboa, 25, a tri-bike driver in Sitio Silongan, Bonuan Binloc.
Found in the possession of the suspect, who is a resident of the nearby Sitio Balatong East, was one sachet of shabu.
Caramat said pushers have been using some tri-bike drivers in Sitio Silongan to peddle drugs to buyers who now refuse to buy directly from the area as the police outpost nearby is already manned. (with report from PIA-Pangasinan)
