BURGOS–One person was killed and two others were wounded in a stabbing spree that happened in a dark portion of a street in Poblacion here at about 8:35 p.m. of June 19.

The lone fatality was identified as Ruben Pacis, 41, a laborer, who was stabbed by four men, believed to be under the influence of prohibited drugs, for no apparent reason.

Wounded were Jorge Caboteja, 17, who was hit on the left part of his chest, and Jolito Albendo, 30, who was stabbed in the upper left portion of his back.

Caboteja and Albendo were attacked first but despite their wounds they managed to run to the national highway and called for help.

The suspects then turned their attention on Pacis, whom they stabbed twice in the chest.

All the victims were rushed to the Dasol District Hospital where Pacis was declared dead on arrival.
