VM inducts senior citizens group officers
VICE Mayor Belen Fernandez hailed the collective experiences and accomplishments of senior citizens when she inducted the officers of the respective Barangay Senior Citizens Association (BASCA) of Caranglaan, Mayombo and Mangin last Thursday at CSI Stadia.
Serving as acting mayor of Dagupan from May 7 to 18, Fernandez said that the Sangguniang Panlungsod has not wavered in its support to the programs of senior citizens because “this is the most significant statement of our appreciation for all your contributions in building out city and in our quest for progress and development.”
‘”Mahalagang malaman ninyo na palagi naming isinaalang-alang ang kapakanan ninyo sa aming usapin at gawain sa Sangguniang Panlungsod,” said Fernandez, adding “mula noon, hanggang ngayon, hinding-hindi ko po kayo iiwan.”
The BASCA in all the 31 barangays of Dagupan is affiliated with the BASCA Federation headed by Atty. Cornelia Español, who thanked the vice mayor for her “overwhelming” support to senior citizens.
“Creating a vision for a more active and vibrant ageing society is a challenge. But it is also our overwhelming opportunity to be your partners in this important work,” Fernandez said.
