Japan’s NISVA gives Dagupan sewing machines

THE Nippon Skilled Volunteers Association (NISVA) of Japan recently donated sewing machines in support of Dagupan’s livelihood projects, one of which is being managed by the Pugaro Sewers Association.

Represented by Shinji Okumura, NISVA turned over to Mayor Benjamin S. Lim last May 2 one unit of Singer 311 four threads edging machine, one unit hi-speed sewing machine 191D, Chinese cotton threads, and threads.

The donor also handed over to Lim cash money as a one- year maintenance fund for the machines.

In return, the city will be responsible for the management, operation, maintenance and repair of the donated sewing machines at its own expense.

The Pugaro Sewers Association has been in the business of sewing for a year now. (CIO)
