UL athletes shine in national competitions

ATHLETES from the University of Luzon (UL) showed remarkable performances in two separate national athletic competitions held recently/

Male and female UL Taekwondo jins grabbed the overall championship in the PRISAA National Collegiate Games held in Cebu City April 22 to 28 by bagging three gold and six bronze medals in men and women’s competitions.

Justin Patrick Camacho, Muhaymin Merindatu and Seila Marie Uson won the gold medals while Resty Pabuna, Dan Alberto Muerong, Nikki Lousie Peralta, Joyce Eden BInce, Jet Rhoeder Bince and Ron Edrian BInce were the bronze medalists.

In athletics, Kingsley Clinton Bautista contributed two silver medals in the 110M Hurdle and as a member in the 4x100M relay while Merdeliza Disu bagged a bronze medal by being a member of the 4x400M relay.

Bronze medals were also bagged in boxing and karatedo by Kennedy Zamudio and Dominador Edos, respectively.

The athletes’ effort enabled Region I to place 5th in the overall standing in the PRISAA Collegiate Games 2012.
