THIS year’s Bangus Festival celebration will feature eight sporting events, starting with a taekwondo competition on April 14 to be held at the Robinsons Pangasinan in neighboring Calasiao town.

Councilor Brian Lim, this year’s executive committee chairman, said other sports competitions include badminton, running, shootfest, bodybuilding, chess, kayak race and darts.

The Kayak race will be held at Nable Street on April 14 and 15.

The running event, dubbed “PNP Takbo Para Kalikasan”, will start and finish at city plaza on April 21. On the same day, the chess tourney will be held at the Lyceum Northwestern University Fieldhouse.

Badminton and darts matches will be held at the Dagupan Astrodome on April 21-22 and April 28-30, respectively, while the BSL Cup Shootfest will be staged at the DPSA Firing Range in Bonuan on April 22.

The last event, which will be the body-building contest, will be held on May 1, the Pista’y Dayat, at the Tondaligan Park.–JAG, Jr.
