FOR MAULING INCIDENT

THE chairman of the Sangguniang Kabataan of Dagupan City and four of his companions are facing an investigation following a complaint filed against him and his four companions before the City Prosecutors Office in Dagupan last March 23.

The complaint was filed by Christian Carl Santiago, 16; Ziv Francisco, 15; and Maggrik Rowel Vongtitipong, 16, all from San Jacinto town and third year high school students of The Right Formation School in Barangay Embarcadero, Mangaldan.

The complainants claim that they were manhandled by John Chester Gonzales, 18, SK Federation president of Dagupan City and his four companions on the night of March 16 inside and outside the Music Warehouse on Perez Boulevard, Dagupan City.

As the complainants are minors, their guardians, Pacita Cabatbat for her grandson Santiago, Filipinas Aquino for her grandson Francisco, and Rogelio Velasco for his grandson Vongtitipong , also signed the affidavit of complaint.

The three boys alleged that at about 11:00 p.m. of March 16, as they were watching a live band performance at the Music Warehouse, the group of Gonzales were having a drinking spree at a nearby table and gave them intimidating looks.

When they went to the men’s room, they were allegedly followed by Gonzales and his group and confronted the former about their places of residences. Santiago answered, “I’m from San Jacinto”.

When Francisco and Vongtitipong returned to their table, leaving Santiago behind, Gonzales and his group ganged up on him.

The group also ganged up on Francisco and Vongtitipong when went to order pizza at the ground floor of the building. An identified companion of Gonzales broke a jumbo bottle of Red Horse on the of the head of Francisco.

ANOTHER SK MEMBER

Vongtitipong said he was also approached by a certain Jeff, who introduced himself as an SK member and a companion of Gonzales, and punched him in the mouth and neck that caused him to fall.

The three boys said the employees of Music Warehouse saw the incident but did nothing to stop Gonzales and company from hurting them.

The Gonzales group again ganged up on the victims while waiting for a tricycle.

They also decided not to immediately report the incident to the police as they feared for their lives.

It was only on March 19 at 11:15 a.m. when the three, accompanied by Joel Fernandez, administrative officer of The Right Formation School, and Celeste Galivo, an aunt of Francisco trooped to the Dagupan police to file the complaint.

NO-SHOW

But before filing the case, the three boys, together with their guardians, agreed to a meeting with Gonzales and company before the police in the morning of March 20.

Gonzales did not appear and was represented by his grandfather, Bonuan Binloc Barangay Chairman Pedro Gonzales.

During the confrontation, the elder Gonzales brought along two of his grandson’s four companions in the March 16 incident, namely James Calderon and one by the family name of Tuliao, the reportedly SK chairman of Caranglaan.

When the SK president again failed to appear a second time, the complaining parties decided to file a formal complaint.

The three boys said they were able to identify Gonzales as the leader of the group that attacked them through the suspect’s Facebook account.

Francisco said he was even able to communicate with Gonzales through Facebook about the incident.
