Pangasinan Brotherhood – USA elects new set of officers

A FORMER Dagupan-based media practitioner whose forte is broadcasting has been elected the 14th president of the Pangasinan Brotherhood – USA for 2012-2013. He will succeed Mangatarem son, Dan Nino.
Eddie C. Ferrer, along with the new set of officers will be sworn-in during a gala night on June 9, 2012 at the Embassy Suites in Anaheim, home to the world-famous Disneyland. It will coincide with the association’s 34th anniversary foundation.
Pangasinan Brotherhood – USA was founded in 1978 by the late Los Angeles Consul-General Armando C. Fernandez, a Dagupeno. It served as the umbrella organization of the 48 town local organizations of Pangasinan and its cities in Southern California.
Other Pangasinan personalities who served as president since its founding 34 years ago were Alfredo C Reyes, Rene Casaclang, Ray A Parayno, Adolfo U Dotimas, Ernesto A Reyes (deceased) , Mel Castelo, Tony Barlongo, Tony Banaag, Gil B Mislang, Bing dela Vega, Ads E Diaz, Mely I Cerame and Nino.
FERRER
Like his predecessor, Ferrer pledged to continue Nino’s scholarship program that benefits the less privileged college-bound students from the provinces’ 48 municipalities and its cities in the six congressional districts.
Through the years, among the group’s projects include cooperative development program in Pangasinan, scholarship grants, disaster relief program and recognition of outstanding Pangasinenses along their lines of expertise.
One of the Ten Outstanding Pangasinan Entrepreneurs (TOPE) in Southern California in 2010, the incoming PB-USA president was the former president of the Filipino-American Community of Orange County. Ferrer, who traces his roots to Dagupan City, is also the CEO of the E.C. Ferrer Customs House Broker, Inc., based in Long Beach.
To be inducted are Nancy Tandoc-Buenviaje, executive vice-president; Marites O Bautista, Roger A Cabal, Roger T Coson, Mila M Maramba, Lilia C Palaganas, and Fidel P Solomon, vice-presidents; Digna V Martinez, recording secretary; Perla M Rasing, corresponding secretary; Gilda N dela Cruz, treasurer; Liza T Braganza, assistant treasurer; Cecile E Coson and Josue E Gabrillo, auditors; Noemi V Dumlao and Vicky P de Leon, public relations officers; Eleanor D Gabrillo and Celilia D Ranches, business managers; Rupito O Baylon and Rey S Rodrigo, marshals; Jess Lagoy Castillo and Louie B Arzadon, parliamentarians.
The board of directors is composed of Mellie B Soriano, chairperson; Ely Torres-Madrid, vice-chairperson; Lina R Cabral, board secretary. The members are Jojo Braganza, Nieves C Coquia, Consorcia D delar Cruz, Leoncio D Dumlao, Rhene M Ferrer, Johnny V Maramba, Manny B Rabara and Victor S Ranches.
Mel G Oxciano was reappointed legal counsel. Constitutional Committee chairpersons appointed to serve as cabinet members are Dom dela Cruz, community relations; Fernando R Soriano, finance; Josie Braganza, membership; Lourdes P Goodall, ways and means; Julius E Sinlao, webmaster and Jazmyne D Bacani, Miss Pangasinan – USA.
Other working committee chairs in support of the president’s administration are Tony Barlongo, Fund Solicitation Committee; Dan E Nino, Scholarship Program; and Nieves C. Coquia, Executive Committee of the June 9 Gala Night and 34th year anniversary foundation.
