FORMER President Fidel V. Ramos has something special for his wife, former First Lady Amelita ‘Ming’ Ramos, when she celebrates her 81st birthday on December 29 – a book about her.

After publishing individual historical biographies on his parents, the late Foreign Affairs Secretary Narciso Ramos and Angela Valdez Ramos; his uncle, Bataan war veteran and Congressman Simeon Marcos Valdez; and his mother-in-law, Josefa Jara Martinez, FVR convinced the former First Lady about the project.

He later requested the Ramos family’s historical biographer, Melandrew T. Velasco, a journalist from Dagupan City, to work on the book which FVR personally titled ‘Simply Ming.’

The 330-page coffee table historical biography is an intimate account of her legacy as a wife, mother, professional career woman and educator, sports leader, environmentalist, musical artist and one of the most influential Filipinas in the 21st century.
