The province is observing Dental Health Month in February with the theme “Ngiting Matatamis, Ngiping Malilinis, Dala ay Pag-asa, Tunay na Ligaya”.

Dr. Eloy Bueno, provincial dentist, said the activities will kick off on January 29 with a week-long dental outreach program at the Western Pangasinan District Hospital in Alaminos City to be led by volunteer doctors and nurses from Minnesota, USA.

The Provincial Health Office will distribute Essential Health Care Package (EHCP) at the pilot expansion schools and day care centers in Bautista town on February 8.

The EHCP contains basic hygiene supplies such as toothbrush, toothpaste and soap.

Day care teachers and workers will be given a Training of Trainers manual about the EHCP program on February 16.

On February 10, t a drawing contest for students, dubbed “Guhit Bulilit”, will be held at the conference room of the Kalantiao building at the capitol in Lingayen.

It will be followed by the “Healthy Smile” contest where a winner from among day care students will be selected for having the healthiest teeth and gums.

Meanwhile, provincial government employees and their families will participate in the Healthy Lifestyle Anniversary Outreach Program on the 14th at the Pangasinan Training and Development Center.

To cap the celebration, a ‘Fun Run” is scheduled on the 24th at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center for employees of the provincial government and the Department of Education. (PIA Pangasinan with report from PIO)
