THE 64th National Students Basketball Championships (NSBC) that will see the participation by regional college and high school champion teams from around the country will be held in Dagupan City from February 27 to March 3.

The collegiate teams will be bannered by the University of Cebu (UC), the back-to-back champion in the Cebu Sports Athletic Foundation Inc (CESAFI) senior men’s basketball tournament.

The competitions will be under the auspices of the Basketball Association of the Philippines (BAP) headed by Senator Antonio Trillanes IV.

The NSBC, also known as the National Inter-Secondary and National Inter-Collegiate Basketball Championship, is a qualifying tournament for the Asian University Basketball Championship (AUBC) to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in June this year.

Graham Lim, secretary-general, said arrangements have already been made with Dagupan officials for the participation of 12 college men’s teams and eight high school boy’s teams.

The host of this year’s NSBC is Vice-Mayor Belen Fernandez, BAP Region 1 Director.

Fernandez will be assisted by BAP Region-1 Organizing Committee members Renato “Jack” Vidal, Noel Osting and Seato Gonimil.

The competitions will be held at CSI Stadia in Dagupan.
