LINGAYEN — Thirty more houses at the Villa Maniboc Socialized Housing Project will soon be awarded to qualified provincial government employees.

Provincial Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (PHUDCC) Officer Alvin Bigay said 19 units had already been completed while 19 others are now being constructed as directed by Gov. Amado Espino Jr.

To date, there are 85 provincial government employees occupying low-cost housing units in the same housing project.

Each unit consists of a single detached bungalow dwelling with a floor area of 32.10 square meters, built on a 90 square meter lot and given to beneficiaries at a cost of P300,000 through the PAG-IBIG housing loan program.

The loan package is designed to be affordable to minimum wage earners, backed by a 30-year amortization plan at only six percent interest per annum.

The National Housing Authority (NHA) has already released the Individual Notice of Award (INA) to 53 qualified beneficiaries last August, enabling them to apply for land titling.

To avail of the loan package, the beneficiaries must be a PAG-IBIG fund member, certified homeless by the assessor’s office, below 65 years old and had passed the pre-qualification process of NHA.

Bigay said casual employees can also avail of the low-cost housing provided that his/her spouse is gainfully employed.

Phase II of the Villa Maniboc Housing Project, located along the beachfront, covering a onehectare area is also set for ground clearing to accommodate an additional 50 housing units.

Meanwhile, civil works are now underway on a 10-hectare lot in Brgy. Pangapisan Norte to accommodate 600 dwelling units.

The latter project will be built under the Abong Tayo Eletneg Program (ATEP) of the provincial government in partnership with Gawad Kalinga Community Development Program Foundation, Inc. (GKCDFI).—LM
