Pangasinan pedal pushers dominate Paniqui bikefest

PANGASINAN’s pedal pushers again proved their dominance by conquering the star-studded Paniqui bikefest in a 1-2-3-4-5 fashion finish that shocked both the host and visitors during the seventh leg of the national criterium series held September 28.

Sprint specialist Ericson Obosa, a Pitaki Boyz member from Manaoag, topped the race, bringing home the P5,000 prize while his teammate Reynaldo Navarro of San Jacinto came in a close second to bag P3,000.

2006 Padyak Pinoy king Santy Barnachea of GHQ team from Umingan came in third.

Basista ace Emilito Atilano and Bugallon pride Renier Clauna, both members of the Pitaki Boyz group, finished fourth and fifth, respectively, giving their team an insurmountable lead of 90 points against their closest rival, the Philippine Army led by 2007 Padyak Pinoy titlist Victor Espiritu.

The bikefest which was participated in by 50 riders in the elite category alone will take off in San Fernando City, Pampanga on October 17 for the eighth leg of the series.-JAGJr.
