Killer of RCBC manager nabbed
URDANETA CITY–The suspect in the killing of a bank manager of Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC), tagged as the city’s most wanted, has been arrested in Aklan and returned here.
The suspect, Rodrigo Quitola, has been in hiding for six months and was caught in New Washington, Aklan following a successful coordination from the provincial and Urdaneta police, according to P/Supt. Rodolfo Castil Jr.
A copy of the arrest warrant and photos were sent to police stations where the suspect could possibly hide and Aklan was identified as one being the hometown of his wife.
Castil said Quitola was arrested on Monday and brought to Urdaneta on Wednesday, escorted by a team led by Inspector Marco Duka, police chief of New Washington.
Quitola is now detained without bail, at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology here.
Quitola, 28, of Barangay Legazpi, Tayug town and temporarily residing in Barangay Camanang here, was the prime suspect in the murder of Maria Fe Valencia, 32, a resident of Bora, Tarlac City inside her rented apartment in Nice Place compound, Barangay Nancayasan this city last March 15.
The victim was found dead with multiple stab wounds and her valuables were missing, including her Mitsubishi Lancer car.
Witnesses saw Quitola driving the victim’s car with his wife on board the day after the crime.
Quitola, guard on duty then, went absent without official leave and has been hiding since then.
A reward money of P200,000 was put up by Eastern Pangasinan Filipino- Chinese Chamber of Commerce led by Engr. Rosendo So and the RCBC management for the capture of Quitola.
Other groups also committed to give incentives for Quitola’s capture.#
