FEEDING of malnourished children in Dagupan continues with the distribution of 1,543 boxes of chocolate cereal in three public elementary schools by Vice Mayor Belen Fernandez.

The vice mayor said the recent distribution was in support of the feeding program of Mayor Alipio Fernandez Jr. for malnourished pupils in the city’s public elementary schools.

The distribution was part of the ‘Busog Lusog’ project of Bear Brand, coursed through the CSI Group of Companies which is owned by the vice mayor, the Rotary Club of Uptown Dagupan and the Philippine Dental Association-Pangasianan chapter.

City Nutrition Officer Leah Aquino, who assisted in the distribution activities, said the choco cereal will be used in the daily feeding for malnourished pupils from preparatory to Grade IV.

Recipients of the choco cereal are the T. Ayson Elementary School in Barangay Calmay, Pugaro Elementary School and Carael Elementary School.

Feeding of malnourished school children is apart from the community feeding being undertaken by Mayor Fernandez for the city.

Meanwhile, Vice Mayor Fernandez also thanked the organizations and volunteers who supported the successful ‘Libreng Bunot’ project held August 24 at the City Astrodome that benefited some 1,000 indigent patients.

‘Libreng Bunot’ was sponsored by the city government with the medicines solicited by the CSI Group of Companies and the First Charity Foundation, Inc. that brought along its dentists, complemented by dentists from the PDA chapter headed by Dr. Lucy Honrado.

Vice Mayor Fernandez plans to hold “Libreng Bunot II” in December.—LM
