Re: CAO spares 63 illegal fish pens again

“THE sixty-three illegal fish pens found in the city’s rivers, whose owners claim these are standing within their properties, have been spared anew from demolition by the City Agriculture Office despite the final deadline set by Mayor Belen T. Fernandez last October 30.”

So what’s new? What is the use of having ordinances if it is not equally applied, Allowing one group to retain their illegal pens while demolishing others only brings suspicions to the city government of possible wrongdoing. I hope not. Anyhow, as I said in my last post the City should contact the Guinness Book of Records for having fish pens that hold the longest maturing fish or having the most illegal fish pens allowed to exist with the city government’s blessing. Owners of illegal fish removed by the City should seek legal help and redress against the city for “selective enforcement” of the city’s illegal fish pens ordinance. The selective enforcement of the fish pens ordinance does nothing but erode the already frail ecology of the city’s rivers while it enriches the pockets of the illegal fish pen owners.”
