Re: Cruz explains Pope’s resignation

To assert such mind-boggling defensive measures to protect the Pope from destruction – the respected retired Bishop Cruz threw into the fire the Code of Canon Law, which has become irrelevant to what’s happening in the Sanctum Sanctorum of the Vatican.

Even before Pope Benedict XVI could throw in the towel, and the process to begin to pick his successor, the Vatican conclave … a process shrouded in cloak-and-dagger-secrecy, that will put the CIA and the old KGB to shame … assigned to elect who will be the … Top Dog … of the Catholic Church, is now being shaken by scandals, that some prominent princes of the church have to go, to deflect these broadsides coming from within.

THE CARDINAL WHO COULD BE . . .

Cardinal Timothy Dolan …. this fat and overweight archbishop of New York, a contender for the office has been tainted by scandals, and questioned extensively in his handling of sex abuses by priests in his former archdiocese of Milwaukee just days before he departs for the Holy See. It could derail his ambitions due to incompetence and mismanagement.

Several of these holier-than-thou cardinals … Cardinals Roger Mahony retired bishop of Los Angeles; Justin Rigali, bishop of Philadelphia retired in disgrace after an indictment by a grand jury; Sean Brady, bishop of Ireland is fighting it out refused to resign; Godfried Danneels, bishop of Belgium has his computer files seized … are hooked in controversies connected to the Church’s nightmarish and chaotic failure in tackling sex abuses on children by pedophile priests.

So far, several archdiocese filed bankruptcy for protection, with all the lawsuits brought against them e.g., San Diego, Boston, Milwaukee, Chicago, Philadelphia.

And the first to get whacked in this metastasizing sex scandals, is Keith O’Brien – the archbishop of St. Andrews and Edinburgh of Scotland, who was embroiled he abused four (4) men studying priesthood in the ’80s.

He resigned as fast as Pope Benedict XVI could say, “I quit.”

THE VATICAN BANK . . .

This maybe the biggest scandal, that rocked the Vatican and probably caused Pope John Paul I his life. It was a debacle the Vatican tried to hide, when it was involved in a multi-billion dollar financial collapse, that led to Bishop Marcinkus, the pope’s right hand man, the CFO of the bank, in its relation to the Banco Ambrosiano, a private bank with connections to the Cosa Nostra.

POPE BENEDICT IX 1032-1048 . . .

The colorful predecessor of Pope Benedict XVI. He was made pope at an early age possibly before adolescence. He was the most durable of them all being … elected; ejected; came back; abdicated; deposed; returned again; ejected again and finally excommunicated.

WHAT’S THE BEHIND THE RESIGNATION . . .

The center of speculations on the Pope’s surrender of the throne of St. Peter, was about a dossier made for him by his appointed cardinals on a 2012 scandal over leaked documents. Revelations in that report given to him in December, forced him to resign, telling everybody he doesn’t “have the strength of mind and body” to carry on and handle the enormous problems of the Papacy.

The dossier supposedly to be secret, was given to a journalist by the Pope’s butler. The documents revealed the conspiracies, the in-fighting, the corruption, the cronyism and even homosexuality in the holy of holies of the Vatican.

The cardinals tasked to investigate the … theft … dug into the workings of the … Curia, that body of tribunals and offices the Pope governs the Roman Catholic Church, and found the security breach.

To the Pope’s profound disbelief and dismay, he made his last comments to the Curia, and lamented the “evil, suffering, and corruption” that have defaced God’s creation.

He’ll go to his grave a broken man!
